The Class
Fit2Ski is a functional group fitness class designed to improve on-hill performance and increase overall fitness level – great for expert, intermediate, and beginner skiers alike. In one hour of Fit2Ski, participants will partake in a circuit-style class with functional exercises using stability balls, BOSU balls, balance boards, steps, and dumbbells. Fit2Ski is designed to help you:
• Increase speed, agility, and power for the dynamic movements and techniques needed on the ski hill.
• Develop balance to help you better control your body in various terrains and snow conditions.
• To build core strength to help you to stabilize the body and hold a strong position on your skis.
• To improve flexibility to prevent injury and help increase range of motion on the slopes.
The Coaches
Fit2Ski was designed and is led by professional ski coach and strength and conditioning specialist, Stefan Overgaard, and his assistant coach, Megan Joyner. Stefan, a former member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, specializes in training and coaching national-level competitive ski racers. When Stefan is on the slopes, Megan Joyner, former ski racer and coach at Osler Bluff Ski Club, will lead the class.
